<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Presentation:</span></b>  Tonight’s scheduled speaker, Allen Lichtenstein had to cancel and will reschedule in the future.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Old Business:</span></b></p>
<p>The Shredding Event is on Saturday, April 20<sup>th</sup> from 9:00 to noon.   Additional volunteers are still needed to help.  Don’t forget to bring your own documents to be shredded.</p>
<ol>
<li>At last month’s meeting we discussed the changes that the Daniel Boone Optimist Club has made to this year’s Community Days. It will be held for only two days with extended hours so we will need a lot more volunteers.  A sign up sheet is being passed around.  We will make our decision to participate this year based on if we can get enough volunteers.</li>
<li>Our Crime Watch family picnic is scheduled for Saturday, July 27.</li>
<li>The Amity Fire Company Carnival is April 30 through May 4.  We will have a table May 2, 3 and 4.  If anyone is interested in helping, members were asked to let Brent Alford know after the meeting.  We are looking for additional people to sit at the table and hand things out while McGruff walks around handing out items.</li>
</ol>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">New Business:  </span></b><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span></b></p>

<li>Carolyn      gave a brief announcement on Dave Hyres health condition.  Kathy Perkins fell and broke her wrist recently.       Get Well cards will be passed      around to send to them.</li>
<li>We      will have an arson dog here in July for our presentation from the      Sheriff’s Department.</li>

As in past years, the location will be the Redner&#8217;s Market parking lot, Douglassville from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.  Local residents are invited to bring old documents and financial records which containin their personal identity,  This includes social security numbers, credit card information, and any other information which you wish to remain confidential.  Access to such information is the basis for identity theft wherebye it is used by criminals to verify ly false identity. This information should never be given out, and old bills, receipts, tax data, and out of date legal documents should be professionally shredded.</p>
<p><strong>So please circle April 20th on your calendar now and plan to attend the Annual Shredding Event</strong>.  Shredding services will again be provided by Pro Shred.  There will be no charge however donations  re greatly appreciated to cover the costs.</p>

<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Presentation:</span></b>  There was no presentation this month.</p>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Old Business:</span></b></p>
<ol start="1">
<li>The      shredding event is scheduled for Saturday, April 20<sup>th</sup>.  We need volunteers to help distribute      the signs to designated areas in the township.  Donna Wunderlich, Brent Alford, Dave and      Susan Smolinsky volunteered to helps distribute the signs.</li>
<li>Private      Investigator Allen Lichtenstein will be our guest speaker in April.</li>
<li>Dianna      reviewed the new schedule for Community Days and spoke about the need for      volunteers to help if we are going to be able to participate this      year.  Community Days will be on      September 7 and 8<sup>th</sup>.       Saturday will be from noon      to 9:00 p.m.  The fireworks this year will be on      Saturday night.  Sunday will be from      1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.</li>
<li>The      Crime Watch family picnic as been scheduled for Saturday, July 27.  The sign up sheet was passed around.</li>
</ol>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">New Business:  </span></b><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span></b></p>

<li>It      was announced that Harold Boyer passed away.  He will be missed by many.  His wife is continuing the business and      will continue to keep the business active in the community.</li>
<li>Our      local police department is now a location to dispose of old and out dated      prescription and over the counter medication.</li>
<li>Dianna      welcomed the six guests at the meeting.       Three guests completed applications to join the group.<b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span></b></li>
</ol>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Police News: </span></b></p>
<p>Officer Gauby discussed recent events occurring throughout the township including 3 daytime burglaries.  Tom reminded the group to continue to patrol the Lake Drive Recreation area.  A question and answer period followed.</p>

<li>Karen      DeFusco had back surgery on Monday.       A card is being passed around for members to sign and it will be      sent to her.</li>
<li>Jim      our webmaster likes the new program he is working with to send out      information on the CPN      mailing list.  He can actually see      who opens their emails and who doesn’t.       The mailing list goes out to approximately 500 people and      approximately 300 people are not opening their emails.</li>
<li>A      sign up sheet is going around for members to sign if they are interested      in Tom arranging a tour of the 911 Emergency Center.</li>
<li>Dianna      asked for volunteers to be on the Community Days committee to help with      letters, phone calls and to help pick up donations.  Dan Reigel, Donna Wonderlich and Richard      and Betty Smoker have volunteered.       Mike and Kathy Perkins will distribute the prizes after Community      Days.  Dianna will check with the      Optimist Club to make sure they are still having Community Days and if      there will be any changes.</li>
<li>Brent      Alford advised the group that the Amity Fire Company will be having their      Carnival in May.  He is going to get      the information for next months meeting.     <b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span></b></li>
</ol>
<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Police News: </span></b></p>
<p>Chief Shuebrook substituted for Officer Tom Gauby and gave a summary of recent incidents in the Township.  He spoke about the extra steps you need to do to keep your property safe and informed the group of new identity theft scams.  A question and answer period followed.</p>

A brief meeting will be held, followed by refreshments. The public is invited to attend.</p>

<li>Susan read the name of the new board members.</li>
<li>Rita thanked everyone for their cooperation with the change in the meeting date      for this month.</li>
<li>The  group was reminded to pick up their 2013 Patrol Calendar if they did not      get it yet.  If any corrections are      needed please let Dianna know.</li>

<li>The      ATCW Community Shredding Event is Saturday, April 20, 2013.  Time is from 9 am to noon.  The sign up sheet was passed around for volunteers to assist at the event.<b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span></b></li>

<p><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Police News:</span></b><b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span></b></p>
<p>Officer Gauby discussed recent events in the township.  He discussed a few areas recently hit by criminal mischief and thief of items in vehicles.  He recommended that you keep an eye on your credit cards and to shred all of your financial documents due to an increase in identity theft in the area.  Watch for ATM scanners at banks.  Officer Coe was present and he recommends that you keep a spreadsheet of all your credit card information in case they are lost or stolen.  He recently had to track identity theft from credit cards and the person did not have any of his credit card information which made it very hard to notify the credit card companies to cancel the accounts.  A question and answer period followed with Officer Gauby and Officer Coe answering questions for the group.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thirty six members gathered at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for the annual Christmas Dinner.  An abbreviated annual meeting was called to order by President Dianna Hyres to vote for the 2013 Officers. After asking members if there were any additional nominations and there were none, the Secretary cast the only vote for the board members and one director since they were running unopposed.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At its meeting January 24th, Amity Township Crime Watch announced that the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Annual Shredding Event is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2013. </span> As in past years, the location will be the Redner&#8217;s Market parking lot, Douglassville from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.  Local residents are invited to bring old documents and financial records which containin their personal identity,  This includes social security numbers, credit card information, and any other information which you wish to remain confidential.  Access to such information is the basis for <span style="text-decoration: underline;">identity theft</span> wherebye it is used by criminals to verify a false identity. This information should never be given out, and old bills, receipts, tax data, and out of date legal documents should be professionally shredded.</p>
<p><strong>So please circle April 20th on your calendar now and plan to attend the Annual Shredding Event</strong>.  Shredding services will again be provided by Pro Shred.  There will be no charge however donations are greatly appreciated to cover the costs.</p>
<p>Be safe and protect your identity by shredding your documents on April 20th!</p>
