Amity Police

The Amity Township Police Department consists of 13 Officers who covers the 18.5 square miles of Amity Township, Douglassville Pa. The Township is divided into 2 districts allowing officers a smaller area to patrol and ultimately reducing response time to any call for service. The officers work a ten-hour workday and work 4 different shifts (days, afternoons, power-shifts and nights.) They change shifts every 4 weeks.

The Officers are responsible for a wide variety of duties including enforcement of traffic laws, conducting initial investigations, and responding to complaints/crimes such as burglaries, suspicious activities, alarms, and domestics. Additionally, officers perform several non-emergency duties such as patrolling parks and neighborhoods, performing business checks, and aiding stranded motorists.

The Police also conduct Bike Patrols in the community parks, developments and at any special events.
